Position Purpose:

The Clinic Psychiatrist will be required to meet with adults, children, and adolescents. This is individual will be compassionate and devoted to providing the best patient care. This candidate will be the only psychiatrist on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
  • Treat patients using psychological therapies. Prescribe treatments or therapies. Prescribe medications.
  • Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals.
  • Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals. Record patient medical histories.
  • Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan or provide treatment.
  • Conduct initial patient evaluations and take detailed medical histories
  • Diagnose adults, teens, and children based on symptoms and prior medical treatment
  • Explain treatment plan to patients their parents or guardians and provide familial support throughout treatment program

Qualifications:

  • Unrestricted state license to practice medicine required.
  • 6 or more years of experience in psychiatric practice
  • 2 or more years of experience in treating children and/or teens
  • Willingness to learn and follow the Clinics standards of practice
  • Demonstrate ability to connect with and provide support for children
  • Current DEA permit required
  • Familiarity with EMR systems
  • Ability to pass background, drug screening and physical
  • CA driver’s license required
